I know that most fish develop their sex after they’ve been born, spending a small time of their lives as sexually indifferent. I also know that some types of fish are hermaphrodites during their entire livelihood in the sense that are able to mate with either males or females… but polar bears? (more…)

How would you feel knowing that the orange-juice or milk you drink, the meat or fish you eat, the detergents you use to clean up your house, the chewing toys of your children or the cosmetics you use, contain substances that may alter your hormone system and provoke reproductive abnormalities? Would you enjoy drinking your “fresh” pre-packed, industrially fabricated, milk if you knew that it contains chemicals that could build up your estrogens (female hormones) or androgens (male hormones) giving a signal to your body to develop female or male characteristics, respectively? And would you give that milk to your baby whose system is still under development?
